Quantitative Social Science Researcher — FELLOWSHIP
We are a George Washington University-based analytical center committed to innovating in digital methods for Russian Studies, facilitating research and data-driven decision-making, and uniting Russian experts from all over the world.
We are looking for social science researchers, offering part-time employment (about 20 hours per week) for three months. The vacancy is ideal for recent master's graduates and postgraduate students. Successful fellowship can result in employment.
Application deadline: September 20th.
- Conduct research, prepare reports and publications based on the research; solve given tasks for key research of the program;
- Take part in building and processing large datasets.
- Ability to understand research tasks and independently refine research questions;
- Programming experience with Python/R;
- Knowledge of libraries for data plotting and visualization (pandas/matplotlib and/or dplyr/ggplot2);
- Knowledge of NLP techniques and NLP libraries for Python/R based on completed courses (experience of realized projects is an advantage);
- As an advantage (experience or readiness to work with):
o Plotly;
o Basic SQL commands;
- Effective oral and written communication: you are able to understand complex things and explain them simply;
- Knowledge of English (B2/C1);
- Knowledge of Russian (C1);
- Willingness to explore new areas;
- Ability to work productively in a team and alone.
