Graduate Research
Cooperation Project
The Russia Program's Graduate Research Cooperation Project aims to support graduate students and early career scholars in accessing primary sources from Russia. We provide assistance with data collection, remote archival research, digital methods, data analysis, and the organization of surveys and interviews in Russia, all at no cost to participants.

Our primary objective is to help MA and PhD students complete their research and assist early career scholars in producing high-quality scholarship. Additionally, we aim to introduce remote fieldwork methods to enhance the education and research capabilities of emerging scholars and Russia experts.
What Is Digital Fieldwork?

The Russia Program has established a school of digital methodologies, utilizing in-house developed IT solutions for in-depth studies on Russia. Among other capabilities, our solutions enable scraping from social networks, facilitate quantitative linguistic analysis of texts, and help to explore public opinions in digital space.

As an example of our work, we scraped speeches of Putin from the Internet and employed lexicometrical analysis to delve into the semantic networks of his discourse.
